We are pleased to announce that the call for submissions for the IWMW 2020 event is now open.

Plenary speaker at the IWMW 2019 event

The IWMW 2020 event will be held at the University of Dundee on 30 June to 2 July 2020. This year’s event is the 24th in the series, which was founded in 1997. This event continues to be the longest-running, and most prestigious, event for university web and digital teams in the world!

The theme of this year’s event is Evolution and Revolution in the HE Digital Community.

Call for submissions

The Call for Submissions page provides further information about the submission process.

As well as submissions from those working in institutional web and digital teams, we also welcome submissions from those who are involved in institutional strategies and planning where this will affect the provision of digital services.

Note that in this current call we welcome submissions from those who haven’t spoken at previous IWMW events and from under-represented sectors of the community, in addition to experienced speakers.

The current call is also open to members of the higher education sector and related bodies – a call for submissions from the commercial sector will be announced at a later date.

We also welcome submissions from those outside of Higher Education whose skills, knowledge, experience and expertise would be beneficial to web and digital teams within HE.

We strongly welcome submissions from those who haven’t spoken at IWMW before, as well as traditionally underrepresented groups, and members of user communities, including students and researchers.

We encourage early submissions to give us time to spot any gaps in topics and provide a full and engaging programme of sessions for the event.

Please note that this initial call is for members of the HE Digital community. Further details are on the Call for Submissions page.

Planning for IWMW 2020

The Advisory Group for 2020 is up and running and we are having regular ‘SlackChats’ to plan the event and share ideas for new innovations this time.

Last month we held a SlackChat on “Contributing to IWMW 2020” on the HE Digital Slack Workspace where members of the HE digital community shared their ideas and suggestions as well as asked the organisers any burning questions! We plan to hold another SlackChat in the coming months as the programme takes shape.

Over the last few years we have introduced new ways of delivering content and engaging with the IWMW attendees including lightning talks, Lean Coffee sessions, using Sli.do, a photo scavenger hunt and a morning run! We welcome new ideas for sessions as well as submissions for tried and tested styles of delivery.
