What’s special about the IWMW event?
In its 18 years, IWMW has provided a unique forum for members of University web management teams to share best practice, hear about new developments and discuss their relevance with peers. IWMW participants have an opportunity to update their skills and develop their professional networks through the programme of plenary sessions and practical workshops and social events.
About this year’s event
The IWMW 2014 event was provided by UK Web Focus with support provided by Cetis and Netskills.
UK Web Focus is Brian Kelly, who established the IWMW series of event in 1997. From 1997 until 2013 IWMW events were organised by UKOLN, with funding for the organisation of the event being provided by the Jisc.
Following the cessation of Jisc core funding for UKOLN the event now has a new organisational structure. Brian Kelly is continuing as the chair and main organiser of the event.
Brian’s host institution, Cetis, the Centre for Educational Technology, Interoperability and Standards, provided support to help ensure the sustainability of the event during a transition period. Netskills, a national training centre based at the University of Newcastle, are providing technical and organisational support for the event.
