Adrian Tribe

Adrian Tribe started working as the Web Editor at Birkbeck, University of London in January 1999, later becoming the Web Manager as his team grew over time. Having been an Archaeological Conservator for 13 years, although Adrian had built up some web knowledge while in that role, he obviously had much to learn and an important part of his web education was attending the IWMW events, his first being in the summer of 1999 at Goldsmiths. This not only gave an opportunity to learn from talks and workshops given by experts in the growing field of University web management, it enabled personal contacts to be made that proved to be so helpful throughout his time at Birkbeck.

But all good things come to an end, and due to some restructuring within the IT Services Department towards the end of 2016, the role of Web Manager was deleted, so Adrian left the profession in April 2017 after 18 happy years. This move actually proved to be an answer to prayer, and has given Adrian the opportunity to pursue a third career, in Christian ministry. Adrian is keen to be a sponsor of IWMW 2017 as a way of giving back to the profession and enabling others to benefit from an event that proved to be so influential and helpful to him in his own web career.

Adrian is a bronze sponsor of the IMWMW 2017 event. Adrian is funding a sponsored place at the events
