Nick Harper

Nick Harper, Head of Enterprise Technology Architecture at UCAS, has over 16 years of experience in the IT sector, including engineering and law. He joined UCAS in May 2013 as a Solutions Architect and quickly developed a thorough understanding of UCAS technologies and was greatly involved in the award winning AWS/Azure migration to the cloud project. He then progressed as a Lead Solution Architect, ensuring that all disciplines of Enterprise Architecture were represented in the designs and outcomes delivered by his team, as they support the development of the digital ecosystem, platforms and transformation of the organisation.

Nick Harper is accountable for developing and maintaining the Enterprise Architecture covering products and services; data and information; systems and applications; and network and infrastructure. The role owns the development and maintenance of a set of consistent coherent architectural views that support the business strategic direction. He is also accountable for principles, standards, and policies associated with the technology architecture and acts as an advocate for internal and external architectural governance and compliance across UCAS technology capabilities.

Nick Harper will give a plenary talk jointly with Fatuma Mahad entitled “UCAS – From Clearing House to Digital Ecosystem” from 09.40-10.00 on Thursday 13th July 2017 and facilitate a workshop on “EA in an Agile Context” from 16.00-17.30 on Tuesday 11 July 2017.
