Abstract
The Web service at the University College Cork has grown by accretion over a decade. Two recent revisions provided the opportunity to look again at a number of areas which needed updating. Many assumptions which were once valid have now changed, and the nature of the information itself has also changed, both in terms of what is available and what is sought.
Some questions remain unresolved in the face of rapidly changing organisational requirements and user demands. New technologies can improve delivery and ease maintenance but changes have to be undertaken without disrupting access to information which users have come to rely on.
