Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy something, I may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use my link or go straight to the retailer.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
How Affiliate Links Work Here
When I recommend a meter, shielding product, or accessory, the “check current price” and product links usually point to a retailer through an affiliate program. If you buy after clicking, the retailer pays me a small percentage of the sale. It doesn’t add anything to your price, and it doesn’t come out of your pocket; it comes out of the retailer’s margin.
Not every link on the site is an affiliate link. Links to manufacturer manuals, certification pages, government sources like the FCC, and other reference material are there purely because they’re useful, and I earn nothing from them.
My Recommendations Aren’t For Sale
This is the part that matters most. A commission never decides what I recommend or what I say about a product.
My reviews are based on measurable performance: accuracy, sensitivity, attenuation, build quality. I say when a product is overpriced, underbuilt, or the wrong tool for the job, including products I could earn a commission on. If a cheaper option, or no purchase at all, is the right call, that’s what I’ll tell you. I’d rather lose a commission than send you to buy something you don’t need.
How I Test And Review
Wherever possible, I buy the products I review with my own money and put them to hands-on use, and my articles include my own readings and photos as that testing happens.
Some reviews begin as research-based evaluations, built on manufacturer specifications, third-party certifications, and long-term owner feedback, and each review states its basis plainly. As my hands-on testing catches up, those reviews are upgraded with my own measurements, and if a product doesn’t live up to its paper reputation, the review will say so.
If I’m ever loaned a unit, sent a review sample, or given a product by a manufacturer or retailer, I’ll say so plainly in that specific review, because being upfront about it is the only way the review is worth anything.
Programs I Take Part In
This site participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. I may also take part in other retailers’ affiliate programs from time to time. In every case, the terms above apply: no extra cost to you, and no influence on what I recommend.
Prices And Availability
Prices, availability, and specifications shown on this site are set by the retailer, not by me, and they change often. Always confirm the current price and details on the retailer’s own page before buying.
Where You’ll See Disclosures
Beyond this page, every article containing affiliate links carries a disclosure at the top, before any link, so you always know before you click.
