New to the higher education sector, Jonathan Trout has been making digital things happen for nearly 20 years at Nature magazine, the BBC, the Natural History Museum, Cancer Research UK and most recently at Unicef UK, where he led the award-winning redevelopment of its website and donations platform. At the University of Edinburgh, his role is to lead and oversee the continuing transformation of the University’s web estate: implementing and iterating the web strategy; revitalising the approach to governance and policy; directing strategic projects; and most importantly, championing and enabling the cultural change from a projects- and technology-driven IT department to a products- and people- driven digital team.
