About the IWMW Series

IWMW, the Institutional Web Management Workshop series was launched in 1997 to support professional development for those working in institutional web management teams. The event is held over 3 days and provides an opportunity for web professionals to refresh and update their skills, share best practices, develop their professional network and engage in discussions about the challenges of providing large-scale institutional web services in a continually-changing technical, political and economic environment. From 1997-2013 the event was organised by UKOLN, a Jisc-funded organisation based at the University of Bath. However following the Jisc cessation of funding for UKOLN the event is now managed by Brian Kelly, who founded the event. The changes have resulted in the event being more closely aligned to the needs of institutional web teams, with an advisory group helping to identify key issues facing web managers. In recent years we have also seen a broadening in the remit of the event, which now encompasses those working in institutional Digital and Online Marketing teams who may have responsibilities for digital services beyond institutional web sites. The event has traditionally attracted core members of institutional Web teams such as developers, designers, content creators and managers. However, in light of the strategic importance of the Web this year the event is now also relevant to policy makers and senior managers who have responsibilities for facilitating organisational change.

About IWMW 2019

The IWMW 2019 event will be held at the University of Greenwich on 25-27 June 20196. The theme of this year’s event is “Times They Are A-Changin’“. Note that the majority of plenary and talks at IWMW events are given by members of institutional web and digital teams in the UK’s higher and further education sectors. However there are also opportunities for a small number of sessions provided by commercial sponsors, although we would expect such sessions to not be marketing talks.

Sponsorship Opportunities

We have worked closely with sponsors for IWMW over recent years. For this year’s anniversary event we are looking to provide additional sponsorship opportunities for companies which may be unfamiliar with the IWMW event, as well as looking to work with our existing set of sponsors.

The sponsorship packages will include: Gold package: Sponsorship of the conference dinner; the wine reception or a plenary talk. Silver package: Sponsorship of conference badges and lanyards, event amplification or workshop session. Bronze package: Sponsorship of a networking breakfast, sponsored places at the event, donation of access to online services; prizes and gifts.

In addition to the sponsorship opportunities we intend to provide an exhibition which will be close to the coffee / registration area.
