Rutherford Dining Hall

The IWMW 2017 event will feature a special dinner which will be held in the Rutherford Dining Hall, Rutherford College from 7.30 pm on Tuesday 11 July, the opening night of the event.

As described on the University of Kent web site:

This traditional outlet located in the heart of Rutherford College is the University’s main function venue. Seating 400 people and with stunning views over-looking Canterbury Cathedral this venue offers banquets, gala dinners and private functions.

Social Event on Wednesday 12 July

The K.Bar

On the second evening we will have a barbecue which will be held at the K.Bar. This will provide opportunities for delegates to mix with each other through a series of activities designed to get everyone chatting, and mingling and to increase their own professional networks – and there may more healthy competition thrown in for good measure.

The barbecue will be held between 6pm-8pm, with welcome drink from 6pm and food being served from 6.30pm. Afterwards delegates will have the opportunity to explore the campus or town under their own steam, should they wish to.

Those Arriving on Monday 10 July

For those arriving on the day before the event starts (Monday 10 July) we have booked a room in The Dolphin pub, Canterbury. The Dolphin is a traditional pub, serving good pub food and good beer, less than ten minutes walk from the main gate of Canterbury Cathedral. There are no TVs, gaming machines or karaoke nights. The address is:

The Dolphin, 17 St Radigunds Street, Canterbury CT1 2AA

The Dolphin is about 25 minute walk from the University – see Google Maps. There are also two taxi ranks on campus. In addition the Unibus service runs from Keynes College bus top into town every 15 minutes.

Gym

We have been informed that:

“All residential guests have access to the gym for free. Visitors just need to show their room key at Kent Sport to prove residency.”
